Notary appointments in Nevada
State rules for apostille, car title, remote online notarization, and power of attorney. The notary does not issue the apostille, transfer the title, or draft the POA.
Nevada apostille
Nevada apostilles are issued by the Secretary of State Authentications office, not a Strip notary. Private documents need a Nevada notarial certificate. Vital records go through Nevada Vital Records first. Do not notarize in California and ask Nevada to apostille it.
Nevada car title
Nevada DMV records the title transfer. A Nevada notary witnesses signatures when the title, bill of sale, or vehicle POA requires it. Same-day Strip and Reno private sales are the usual booking.
Nevada remote online notarization
Nevada electronic and remote notarization requires SOS registration and an approved platform. Clark County recording and many title companies still want wet ink. Confirm the receiving party before you book.
Nevada power of attorney
Nevada durable POA under NRS 162A is signed, dated, and acknowledged before a notary. Healthcare POA in the same chapter often allows two witnesses or a notary. The notary does not draft the form.

Course and exam
NRS 240.018 requires a course of study before appointment. The Secretary of State’s handbook requires the Notary Public Training Course and a passing exam before the application is submitted. A separate electronic-notary course and exam are required to register a platform. The Secretary of State’s handbook requires applicants to pass the Notary Public Exam before appointment or renewal, and to pass the Electronic Notary Public Exam before registering a platform.

Remote Online Notarization
Authorized
NRS 240.185 and the Secretary of State handbook define an electronic notarial act to include an act performed over the internet by audio-video communication. The notary must hold an active commission and register an approved platform. The same $10,000 bond covers those acts. No separate commission number is issued.

What the statute says
NRS 240.100: acknowledgment, $15 for the first signature of each signer and $7.50 for each additional signature of that signer; jurat, $15 for each signature on the affidavit; oath or affirmation, $7.50; certified copy, $7.50. NRS 240.197: an electronic notary may charge $25 for each acknowledgment signature, each jurat signature, or an oath. Travel is a separate agreed hourly fee under those sections, not part of the notarial cap.
