How notarization works in Houston
Houston signings cluster around Harris County recording, the energy corridor, the Port of Houston, and the Texas Medical Center. A purchase closing through a title company usually includes the notary at the table. The notary cannot certify a copy of a birth certificate, marriage license, or other recordable vital record. Those come from the issuing agency.

Medical Powers of Attorney and Directives to Physicians under Health and Safety Code Chapter 166 can use two witnesses or one notary. Same-day mobile appointments are the usual path inside the Loop, the Heights, Memorial, Katy, Sugar Land, and the Medical Center. RON is the better fit when a signer is out of state and the receiving party will accept a Texas online certificate. The notary must be physically in Texas for a Texas RON session.
